You could be … and not even realize it. After nearly 22 years as a DIY investor (I am OLD), I’ve noticed we spend WAY too much time worrying about things we CAN’T control. Which stock will outperform ($NVDA) . Which sector will take off next ($XLE) . What the market is going to do tomorrow ($VFV/$VOO ). What our return will be…. Meanwhile, we sometimes overlook the things we actually CAN control. And some of these mistakes can get REALLY expensive over time. Expensive enough that they cost you your retirement timeline! I see them constantly on Blossom and Youtube. One of them in particular makes me want to SCREAAAM “NOOOOO… THAT’S NOT HOW THIS WORKS!!!!!!” So I put together a video breaking down 5 common investing mistakes that could be quietly hurting your returns …… and what you CAN actually do about each one of them. Eliminating one of them could increase your returns by 71% over 30 years 😏 After all, investing isn't about making the perfect decision every time. Usually, it's just about making FEWER bad ones. https://youtu.be/gl4EWVamBUg

Which of the 5 mistakes stung the most for you? And if you could add another mistake to this list, what would that be? Sharing mistakes allows others to learn, without making the mistakes THEMSELVES! That's the hard way to learn (and burns your 💰)!!

That reminder about controlling what we can actually control really landed with me. I catch myself trying to guess what the market will do next week instead of focusing on avoiding the big mistakes. Definitely going to watch the video.

Very good video! Thanks! Hopefully Blossom will categorize cc etfs as retirement funds like put them in a section like they do to other funds so new investors don’t get confuse how to use these funds. Blossom became a cc etf app already good for retiree but bad for beginners.

Good video! I’ve pretty much made every investing mistake possible over the years. Learning what works best for your brain and hands as an individual is imperative but the results need to be measured against a benchmark that is realistic and achievable. For example, just saying ‘dollar cost average into index funds’ whilst has a high probability for compounding success this approach can also be left for interpretation and open to behavioural gaps. This is something that die hard proponents of index ETF investing often fail to acknowledge.
