Borrowed $2000 from the equity built in my principle residence and invested it in $XEQT in my Smith Manoeuvre portfolio. Ever since switching from Questrade to Wealthsimple, this was my first new deposit to the SM portfolio within the new beokerage and everything went smooth. The process I followed? I moved $2000 from my Scotiabank HELOC to my Scotiabank chequing account, then made an interac e-Transfer to myself and deposited it to my dedicated SM chequing account I have created within Wealthsimple. Lastly, I deposited that exact $2000 to my Smith Manoeuvre portfolio in Wealthsimple and bought approximately 44 new shares of XEQT.
