January 2026 distributions
I've been putting this off for quite a while wondering whether it was worth it or even acceptable to keep posting monthly totals. It was definitely fun in the bull run watching my and everyone else's monthly income climb.
As well, I never want to come off as a braggart or lead on novice investors to follow me just because I pursued this strategy to a level of success. I didn't join Blossom to gain a following, I only wanted to be a part of a like-minded community where I could learn and share what I have learned.
With that said, I never knew there was this level of extremism in the investing thoughts regarding different strategies (ie growth vs income) but the childish hate that I've experienced has opened my eyes. Thank you to Blossom's developers for adding the block function, since I was very near to never opening the app again around December.
But since people are still following passive income members like myself, I thought I'd try another monthly update. Again, I do not recommend this strategy for people with a long investing horizon, as you would do better with a growth strategy. This is a "retirement ready" portfolio, with income as its primary focus.

I made some small changes in January. I sold some NVHE to lock in profits, and sold out HHIC as it was too redundant with ECHI and CANY.
I also am using the cash distributions to help pay down the remaining amount of my mortgage as I look ahead to retiring. It's the first time I haven't automatically reinvested the distributions and it's feeling strange but quite positive to put them to work in another part of my financial life.
Take care everyone, and stay invested!
