For someone who’s 21 with 0 financial knowledge what are your guys opinions on the start of my portfolio? Is there any other stocks I should be investing in for growth or do I simply keep buying $XEQT? $F$HYLD$TD$XEQT

For growth you can add $VFV (S&P 500), you can also add $XQQ or $QQC which tracks the NASDAQ 100 but it means that you will increase your exposure to the US. For me, I have VFV XEQT XQQ for growth and VDY and HHIS for passive income. Just started investing since one month so hope it will be a great journey.

If you're brand new I'd keep it simple with the all in ones like XEQT. I wouldn't stock pick until you understand financial metrics like PE, FCF, EPS, etc and can actually make valuation and quality assessments (would suggest One Up on Wall Street if you're interested) I also recommend against HYLD because covered calls are not a worthwhile investment.

$XEQT is great because it covers all your bases. I’d recommend being 100% growth oriented at your age

if i were to restart over again after 5 years of investing, there are only 2 etfs i would buy and hold until i hit about 50K investments. I would then start branching to Single Stocks like ENB, META, MICROSOFT, GOOGLE etc. $VDY and $QQC If you want to be like the other 90% of investors and just have $XEQT great...but you can do better with more isolated ETF's. I also wouldn't waste my time with VFV which is the TOP 500 USA companies as it's too safe of an investment. Would rather have 10 to 18% return over 8% in VFV on an annual basis. Over the last 5 years, XEQT has underperformed VDY which basically tracks the Canadian Market and QQC which tracks the top 100 USA stocks. See the picture below.
