One of the most interesting $AMD numbers right now isn’t revenue or guidance. AMD’s unconditional commitments went from $12.2B at the end of 2025 to $25.7B after Q1 and $30.3B after Q2. That’s roughly a 148% increase in just six months. Those commitments primarily cover things like wafers, substrates, components, cloud infrastructure and technology licenses. AMD also disclosed another $9.5B of long-term data center lease commitments after Q2, with those leases beginning in 2027 and 2028. This isn’t backlog, and it doesn’t guarantee future demand. But AMD is clearly preparing its supply chain and infrastructure for a much larger business than the one it operates today. Sometimes you learn more by following the commitments than the guidance.
