Blossom Ad Earnings

Well saw this for the first time today, had a creators call last month with @max discussing about potential ways to reward creators and benefit Blossom content creators while continuing to impeove Blossom. I think this is a cool step to keep creators on this platform and continue to contribute to @blossom.

I never started posting to make any money but simply for the love of finance and educating people/sharing my story. I think overall this will benefit the platform and make good creators want to continue to post on Bloosom and and value to Blossom as a whole.

What are peoples thoughts??

MOST CONTENT IS REPETITIVE AT BEST AND LATELY A LOT OF AI. NOTHING WRONG WITH HAVING A REAL JOB INSTEAD OF TRYING TO GET PAID TO POST WORDS.

Every social media platform went downhill after paying "content creators". I would expect the same result here

For those who aren’t aware, the current “ads” are not some big thing on your screen

As of my creator call with Max, they plan to put a banner ad below the like bar of a post when a creator turns it on. Not on the feed itself, ONLY when you click on the post and scroll will the ad show up. And they only show up on posts that the creator turns on, so it’s not just every post

It’s the exact same kind of ad you get at the top of the For You page when you’re on the Home Screen.

This is of course subject to change and I have no clue what current plans are or long term ones.

Thought I’d provide context before everyone jumps to conclusions, but yes the “slippery slope” of ad creation is real. However, any social media requires ads unfortunately as an income source or part of the platform. Thats the direction every platform is heading, and that’s the unfortunate reality

yeah , im not dealing with ads on this platform. looks like ill be cancelling and moving away from the platform.

I’ve been thinking about how posts are surfaced on Blossom.

Lately my feed seems to be filled mostly with the larger creators. Maybe that’s just my experience, but I miss seeing posts from newer members. One of the things I enjoyed most when I joined was discovering people who were just starting out and having conversations with them.

It also made me realize why some creators occasionally revisit the same idea. I recently did that myself—not because I had run out of things to say, but because I know not everyone sees every post the first time.

I’ve also always been open about what I’ve earned from creating content over the past three years—about $5,400. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with rewarding people who put time into creating valuable content. The important part is designing those incentives so they encourage thoughtful investing conversations, not just content that performs well with an algorithm.

To me, Blossom has always been at its best when it’s a place for investors to connect, learn from one another, and discover voices they might not have found otherwise.
