Had a great chat today with @maxstocks, the CEO of Blossom today. It's pretty cool to see a company actively reaching out to creators and asking, "How can we make this platform better?" We talked about ways to improve the creator experience, ideas around monetization, and what would genuinely add value for the community. One thing I really appreciate is that they're willing to listen. The best products are built by taking feedback from the people who actually use them. Excited to see what the future holds for Blossom, and I'm grateful to have had the opportunity to share my thoughts. If you could add one feature to Blossom, what would it be? 👇

I know this might not be the most popular opinion around here with all the ETF hype but I’d love to see the ability to add good old mutual funds to our portfolios. Don’t judge me, some of us still have investment fossils from our bank days 😅

Interesting that you discussed monetization. I was contemplating a post about that topic. Many great creators on here not being compensated. This leads to creators pulling eyes away to other platforms like YouTube and Substack etc. Obviously, Blossom will have to address this or risk a long term drain of talent from the platform.

This is a really interesting conversation. I’ve only been creating content for about three years, but I genuinely enjoy the process of learning, sharing, and hopefully motivating others along the way. Just this week someone walked up to me and asked, “Are you The Crazy Canuck Investor?” That single moment made all the late nights feel worthwhile. The reality, though, is that creating content isn’t free. The biggest expense isn’t the camera or the software—it’s time. I work full time, I’m a husband and father, and I still try to publish a video every week. Most of that work happens late at night or while the kids are at school. Monetization is a tricky topic in the finance space because credibility matters. If creators promote products they don’t believe in, people notice. I’ve made several videos about Blossom, not because anyone paid me to, but because I genuinely like what the team is building. Those videos continue to introduce new people to the platform long after they’re published. That’s why I think there’s room to better recognize creators who bring lasting value to the community. Not because creators are chasing money, but because meaningful content takes a tremendous amount of time to produce. My wife jokes that I should stop making videos because of how much time they consume. She’s probably not wrong. 😄 For me, though, seeing someone learn something, gain confidence, or simply recognize me in a parking lot reminds me why I started in the first place. I know Will’s post is really about improving Blossom as a platform, and I think they’re already doing a lot of things right. The fact that they’re asking creators and users for honest feedback tells me they’re building for the long term. I’m excited to see where Blossom goes from here.
