Everyone Says Itâs Overpriced⌠Until It Isnât
In the early days of smartphones, people said Apple $AAPL was overpriced. âItâs just a phone.â What they missed wasnât the product. It was the platform. The smartphone became the center of modern life, and $AAPL became one of the greatest wealth creators in history. Today, I hear similar arguments about semiconductors, memory, and AI infrastructure. âTheyâre too expensive.â âItâs all hype.â Maybe some companies are overpriced. Thatâs what markets do. But if AI becomes as fundamental as the smartphone, the internet, or electricity, todayâs leading chip and memory companies wonât just be selling hardware. Theyâll be building the infrastructure that powers nearly every industry. The biggest investing mistakes often arenât buying great businesses at what seem like expensive prices. Theyâre dismissing transformational technologies because they feel expensive in the moment. Valuation matters. But so does recognizing when the world is changing. The future rarely looks cheap while itâs being built.
