From “I Have No Idea” to Top 10%
Crazy to think that back in 2020, I honestly had no idea what I was doing with my finances( happily sitting in a Chequing account).
I wasnt thinking about budgeting, asset allocation, investing consistently, tax advantaged accounts, diversification or even the power of compounding.
Fast forward to today, and Im still learning but Im much more intentional about where my money goes and why.
Seeing Wealthsimple show me in the top 10% of clients in my age group (35- 39) was honestly a pretty cool moment.
Not because I think Ive "made it!!!"
Quite the opposite.
It reminded me that small, consistent improvements can add up.
Financial literacy isn't something you magically wake up with. You learn it. You make mistakes. You ask questions. You change your habits. You keep going.
And sometimes you look back and realize:
"Wait… maybe I'm actually doing something right."
I'm nowhere near where I ultimately want to be, but I'm proud of the progress. Goal never was to compare myself to everyone else.
The goal is to become financially better than the person you were yesterday.
2021 me would probably be pretty proud of 2026 me.🥹
And 2031 me better be even more proud.
Keep learning. Keep investing. Keep building.
