XEQT is a great idea to get broad market exposure. It's a smart place to place funds for the long term. Suggesting NVDA feels like you'd be just chasing a hot stock that has had quite a run up. I really wouldn't recommend that as, with a 20K starter position, you really should be looking at building a more conservative core position. This is what the broad base of XEQT buys you. If you did want to go with individual stocks I think you would be better off looking for stocks that are much more modestly valued than NVDA. But for me, I built my wealth using index funds to form a strong foundation first, before moving on to individual stocks. Good luck and stick to a plan!
