Any thoughts on investing in REIT ETFs like VNQ and VNQI? Are they worth adding to a long-term portfolio?

My story with $VNQ I started buying back in Q1 of 2022 at $99. Turned reinvesting dividends on and waited. I saw it crash all the way down to $71 per share almost 2 years in, on Oct/Nov '23. I did not buy a full share again until a year later in Oct '24 when the price recovered to $95 per share. Since then I've actively continued buying at $88-$95 per share. Today it closed at $99 exactly where I started, however my trade is up 8.25%. it took 4 almost 5 years but managing appropriately has turned profitable. I also own shares in one of VNQ's largest holdings $AMT, which currently sits at its cheapest price since 2019. Market analysis ratings show it's a great buy and hold time for this security.
