What Does a Rich Life Mean to You?
I met someone recently who was surprised I had such a modest car.
Aside from the fact that vehicles depreciate, it reminded me that a rich life is not supposed to look the same for everyone. I'm not rich (yet!) but could probably have a nicer, newer car, sure.
Some people feel rich driving luxury cars and chasing status. Others feel rich having slow mornings, financial freedom, strong relationships, meaningful work, good health, or the ability to pick their kids up from school every day. In my opinion, there is no right or wrong way to answer.
The mistake a lot of people make is adopting someone else’s definition of success without ever asking themselves what actually matters to them.
That doesn’t mean think small. It means think intentionally.
Think big about the life you want.
Maybe your version of wealth is building a business with flexibility instead of scale at all costs. Maybe it’s travelling more. Maybe it’s peace of mind. Maybe it’s owning your time. Maybe it's owning your own home. Maybe it's finishing school debt-free. Maybe it’s creating impact. Maybe it’s having enough financial security to stop living in survival mode.
A rich life is curated, not copied. The older I get, the more I realize that real wealth is when your life genuinely aligns with your values, not just what looks impressive to other people. Spoiler: People really don't care anyway.
There’s nothing wrong with ambition. Dream big. Build big. Earn big.
Just make sure the life you’re building is one you actually want to live.
For me, a rich life starts with complete time freedom and being healthy in mind, body, and spirit - because health truly is wealth. It’s building a life that feels aligned. Investing helps me get there.
