The best investors don’t feel less fear, they recover faster. Novak Djokovic recently said the difference between elite performers isn’t confidence. It’s recovery. They still feel nerves. They still have negative thoughts. They’ve just practiced returning to center, again and again. That’s the part most people miss in investing. If markets make you uneasy… If headlines shake your confidence… If you’re wondering whether you started too late… You’re not broken. You’re not behind. You’re on a different timeline. Emotional resilience isn’t eliminating fear. It’s shortening the spiral. In investing, that practice looks like: • noticing fear without reacting • returning to your plan instead of the noise • continuing forward even when certainty is missing You don’t need perfect timing. You don’t need constant calm. You need a simple plan, and the ability to come back to it faster each time. Progress isn’t staying steady forever. It’s recovering quicker than last time. Different timelines. Same destination. And every time you return to your plan, you’re already doing what most never will. 🌱📈

Lost 60k in the past week. Investing surely makes you humble. This too shall pass. Good post.

Well said Lisa. Investing taught me some soft skills I didn’t have.

this is great advice because for most things: like taking a test and going for a new job interview, you’re always in your head. And it really does take practice to get out of your head and let your skills take over!
