I keep seeing online about how $SOFI is this great company to own as a long term investment and I have done some research and I will be doing a lot more but I wanted to come on here and ask why people think SOFI is such a great buy. They keep improving revenue and profit each year and they are changing banking but when comparing them to some of their competitors $ALLY and specifically $NU they seemed dwarfed. NU is estimated to make almost four times Sofi’s revenue this year (4.5 billion for Sofi and 20 billion for NU Holdings) and is expanding in the US market. There was even the short seller report earlier this year which could be and probably is a bunch of noise, but even so people are hyping this up heavily and treating this as a great growth stock. So why SOFI, why is SOFI this great growth stock I don’t see it on the surface and could be missing important information but I don’t understand the hype.

I 100% agree with you, I’ve never really understood Sofi hype. I believe people’s view with fintech is super narrow, Hood & sofi for example. Those two companies are valued as if they are going to grow exponentially in the future, and I do think they will. But Nu isn’t in the USA, it’s a foreign company which is why I think people ignore it so much. Any foreign business seems like it’s been pushed aside, and recently this has definitely been the case. Think about it this way, imagine Nu was in the USA, I can probably bet its valuation could be over 2 times higher. Now if you compare SoFi valuation to Nu theirs a clear difference. Personally, I even think Nu is better than SoFi in every way. A cheaper valuation, higher margins, a greater growth market, less competition, and so much more. Nu has over 135 million customers they can monetize for the future, SoFi only has 14 million. Like come on.
