This week’s market was a reminder of why I want ETFs to be the foundation of my portfolio. Amazon surged 15% after strong AWS growth, while Apple fell 8% despite beating expectations. One earnings report can completely change a stock’s direction overnight. Instead of trying to predict which company will be the next winner, I decided to add to my ETF positions today. ✅ Bought VFV ✅ Bought XEQT VFV gives me exposure to the 500 largest U.S. companies, while XEQT adds global diversification in one ETF. Together, they fit the long-term investing approach I’m trying to build. I’ll still hold a few individual stocks (META, MU, and SERV), but going forward, I want ETFs to make up a larger portion of my portfolio. I’m learning that consistency beats chasing the next hot stock. One paycheck. One ETF. One step closer to my long-term goals. 📈🌱 What are you buying during this earnings season—individual stocks or ETFs? #VFV #XEQT #ETFInvesting #CanadianInvestor #LongTermInvesting #PersonalFinance #InvestingJourney #BlossomSocial

I’m all for having these ETFs cover 40% of a portfolio, I have a similar set up but VFV and XEQT are over 50% the same thing, better off to just have XEQT

True, I’ll buy more XEQT sooner!
