Not the classiest way to introduce yourself but at least you're showing your true colours so we know what to expect from you. Investing in an index that averages 8% yearly with little risk can definitely produce worthwhile gains. I day trade which produces much higher returns but everyone's risk appetite is different and the suggestion to buy an index ETF and forget about it works well for many investors.
