aug 7 trading journal
first red day in 8 days I guess, after doubling the account since 29th. -8.24%on one day is really not ok. traded on hopium.
day started, lost 1%/1r in premarket, then forgot my basic rules, held something while market was opening without a clear narrative.
was feeling a weird kind of FOMO where instead of missing the trade I just didn't collect 'enough' of the move by selling all week at about 40% of what it gained and got too aggressive, held for no reason despite expecting where it bottomed, i added at random times, I usually know better and I don't do this most Fridays, just won a bit too much and wanted more i think...
the only part I'm proud of is that at 2pm when it was looking like it was spent and only likely to fall i closed everything and stopped trading. 4 months ago me would not have had the grace to do that and would have spent a week waiting to break even with capital committed. i checked later and it had indeed bottomed out and I slipped in a 10% starter to coin flip a headstart next week.
still very bad at finding fair stop loss levels and I'll be studying that this weekend and working on my heuristic scripts.
