I'm a $SOFI shareholder, but let me play devil's advocate... ~57% institutional ownership for $SOFI... $XYZ has over 85% institutional ownership. Does that make Block a superior company versus Sofi? Not to mention, what percentage of the institutional ownership is passive, meaning they don't have a choice as it's based on Indexed allocations. The whole institutional equating to "smart money" doesn't make sense IMO. And... Average institutional ownership for a Mid-Cap stock in the U.S. is often approaching 70%. Does this make SOFI less than average? I'd say no, but if we're going off institutional ownership I guess the answer is yes.
