BMNR and SBET Fund Ethereum’s Expansion.
Ethereum is up just over 6.5% today
BitMine (BMNR) and SharpLink (SBET), the two largest Ethereum treasury companies, have now helped fund three new Ethereum organizations focused on expanding the network’s technology and institutional adoption.
Ethlabs — launched June 22
Focuses on Ethereum protocol research, development, scalability and infrastructure.
Ethereum Institutional — launched July 1
An independent nonprofit designed to serve as a point of contact between Ethereum and major financial institutions.
EthSystems — launched July 14
Builds privacy and compliance technology that allows regulated financial institutions to transact on Ethereum.
EthSystems was founded by the team behind the Ethereum Foundation’s Institutional Privacy Task Force and launched with anchor funding from BitMine Immersion Technologies, SharpLink, Joe Lubin and other Ethereum ecosystem supporters.
According to the company, its technology will allow banks, asset managers and other regulated institutions to transact on Ethereum without publicly exposing client identities, trade details or other sensitive information.
EthSystems is also bringing roughly a year of existing open-source development, relationships with central banks and tier-one financial institutions, and founders with experience at the Ethereum Foundation, Goldman Sachs and Status.
Together, the three organizations address different parts of Ethereum’s institutional growth: improving the underlying technology, building relationships with financial institutions, and providing the privacy and compliance infrastructure those institutions require.
