I suspect there are people living paycheck to paycheck and hoping they have enough to cover all their necessities, never mind any wants.

In my conversations with people my age, it ranges from I can’t afford it, to I don’t know what I’m doing, to if I don’t have 100k is not worth it. I suggest people to do 100 a pay or what ever is so easy you won’t notice into something like a broad market index. Automate it. When you feel comfortable make it more. Most don’t start

I disagree with the 30% part , I would say 10 % for emergency money with an easy access to it and 20 or 15 % for entertainment
