Paying a fund manager 1% a year to LOSE to an index fund is insane. The stats are brutal. Roughly 90% of active funds fail to beat $VOO over 15 years. You paid MORE. For WORSE results. Active fans say: skilled managers dodge crashes & find hidden winners. Passive fans say: fees kill returns, and nobody times the market anyway. I'm team passive. $VOO & chill is my default for the boring money. I'd rather keep my 1% & let compounding do the work. No manager needed. Not financial advice. Active or passive? Where do you stand? 👀

Love this. Also team passive.

I’m so glad you posted this 🥰- I have FSELX and it’s a huge money maker for me but recently changed fund managers. I will need to pay attention to this. For the most part I’m very interested in EFTS and mutual funds but I’m also interested in keeping track of where I’m throwing my money. I only have about 15 years before I retire so time and growth are essentials for me

I’m actively passive and I opportunistically time the purchase of shares.
