I get a little ZING of energy every 2nd Wednesday (payday!) as I get to add to my $XEQT positions. ⚡ I need to dial back how much I invest now until the end of the year. I despise old man winter and I'd like to vacation at least 3 weeks this snowy, grey, dark and cold season that's just around the corner so I need cash to stay in my bank account! I contributed $392.22 to my non-reg and $300 to my leveraged PLOC non-reg account today bringing my total $XEQT share count to 1,904. As much as I'd like to hit 2,000 shares by EOY, my new goal is to achieve that mark by my 31st birthday in February. I have $36,601.58 in cash that I put away for a car and that I'll use to max out my RRSP in the new year. If you don't know, my 2019 Accord was stolen on Easter Sunday by a bunch of bandits leaving me with my 2009 Civic (looking back it was a blessing in disguise.) Unless the Civic gets totaled and given that it only has 160km, it should last me quite a bit longer so I am comfortable with using what's needed from the $36k I have in cash to invest. Much smarter to buy the remaining 96 shares in the tax deferred account than my non-reg. If you're interested in meeting up to talk all things personal finance, see the Facebook group link in my bio and join! I took a break from the group for October but we are to meet in November! 😁

I agree with going on a vacation to chance your environment etc vs piling every dollar in (you’ve already got yhr momentum started young ) But I’d suggest you keep at least 25k in case you do need a new car soon .. you just never know

I feel you, going to Cancun in January to prevent my seasonal depression. 😅

Always nice to treat yourself once and awhile, well deserved! I’m also planning to slow down for a couple months to hopefully go to Japan!

The payday zing is the part most people never get to, the buy is boring and the habit is the asset. Dialing it down for a winter you'll actually enjoy isn't a step back, the routine survives the pause. Do you keep a smaller auto buy running or stop it fully?
