Anduril just bought Popoto Modem, and here's why that's wildly bullish for $KRKNF / $PNG! Popoto makes acoustic modems, the ONLY way vehicles can talk to each other underwater. Anduril already ran Popoto modems on Copperhead, but the ramp rate wasn’t sufficient for their ambitions. Now it bought the company and plans to scale it with Anduril's high-rate production capacity. Look at the lineup that Anduril has assembled for its underwater ambitions: • Dive LD, from the Dive Technologies acquisition in 2022. • Ghost Shark, built on Dive XL, an A$1.7B program of record with Australia. • Copperhead, fast UUVs for ISR and strike. • Seabed Sentry, an undersea sensor network. Popoto is the comms layer that ties it all together. You don't buy the comms layer for a fleet unless you plan to build the fleet at scale. Now follow the power. That's where Kraken Robotics lives. Kraken has supplied pressure-tolerant batteries to the Dive line since 2020, two years before Anduril bought Dive. Kraken also powers Ghost Shark and Copperhead. Anduril's Rhode Island plant is built to produce 200+ Dive LD vehicles per year, with full capacity targeted by the end of 2027. Every one of those hulls needs a deep-rated battery. Qualifying a new one takes years. Once Kraken is designed in, it stays in. Anduril keeps writing checks to make its undersea fleet more capable and to build it faster.
