Asking for a friend.
Imagine you have a strategy that is proven to accomplish the following -
- Risk is not zero. But. The risk is less than holding an index like SPY. Better sharpe and sortino than S&P
- Yields 20% yearly gain with 90% or higher chance. Average is likely close to 30%
- No matter what the market condition is, it always beats index, by design.
- Involves less than 15 minutes of your time, a day on average.
Would you just keep using it yourself? Or
- Share it with others? But what's the benefit to you really.
- Tutorials? YouTube? Books? Only makes it more public and who knows it could in the long run make the strategy less effective? Hard to say. But why take the risk. The strategy is paying today. Online presence and income from that takes years of effort. Maybe more stable in the very long term, but you may not need that long of a wait anyway. Plus you lose privacy, anonymity.
- Join hedge fund? Employment is not really a sexy idea.
- Start your own? takes a lot of effort, lot harder than social media. Need track record.
- May be manage a small pool of capital from others? basically hedge fund in small scale. May be. Involves a lot of legal steps, could be tricky, need to expose your strategy potentially.
Not really much you could do other than just enjoy it I guess.
Happy weekend!
