Canada has lost a total of 110,000 jobs over the past two months, including 68,000 in September. Canada's unemployment rate also jumped to 6.5%. Not the be a bummer but Canada has gotten the worse of the trade war since it started. Something needs to give.

This underpins exactly why we need to diversify trading partners. Being so reliant on the US, puts us in a grievous position, any time the US gets into a hissy fit.

This makes my blood boil. I donāt think we could have a better neighbor than Canada, and what Trump is doing is just beyond the pale.

Anyone in business would tell you all your eggs in one basket it career or business suicide. I am in the auto industry and it hurts. I wonder day to day if I will have a job. But as a whole if we move away from Wallstreet thinking in a global economy. You need to play the long game. Am I happy no. Do I think this industry will be OK. It's going to suffer even more if this keeps up. I also know what its like to negotiate with people that don't collaborate for common growth. I have been in business units that accept that. Let me tell you it is a race to the bottom. Usa receives significantly discounted materials from Canada keeping their product cost down. Selling things even cheaper eroding EBITDA. Is not sustainable. Not sure this current environment is sustainable either. It's a wicked problem I don't have the answer for. Tell BYD to put a manufacturing plant here and produce hybrids for the 2 million vehicles a year we do buy.
