Well Deserved, Moe! I wanted to take a minute to congratulate @moementumfinance on receiving the Blossom MVP Creator Award yesterday. I really can’t think of a more deserving person. Early on in my YouTube journey, Moe invited me onto his channel for an interview. But I was also very early in my investing journey. I’ve only been investing seriously for just over three years, so at the time I was very much still learning and finding my way. I remember being nervous. That interview challenged me. I had to explain what I was doing, why I was doing it and talk about investing with someone who had been doing this a lot longer than I had. But it also gave me some confidence. It made me realize that while I’ll never have all the answers — and hopefully I’ll never stop learning — I had started to build a foundation that allowed me to have these conversations and share my journey with other people. Moe gave me that opportunity early on, and I’ve never forgotten it. So fast forward to yesterday, and somehow I’m sitting on a stage beside him at BlossomCon. 😂 That was definitely a bit of a “how did I get here?” moment for me, and it was genuinely an honour to share the stage with him. Yesterday was also the first time Moe and I had actually met in person. We ended up spending most of the day together, from early in the morning right through BlossomCon. And it never really felt like I was meeting him for the first time. It felt like I was spending the day with a friend I’d known for a long time. One of the things that really stood out to me was just how humble Moe is. For someone who has interviewed so many people, built what he’s built and was literally there receiving a VIP Creator Award, there was never any sense that the day was about him. He was interested in everyone else. He listened, asked questions, laughed and just enjoyed being part of the community. That’s Moe. He’s smart, but he doesn’t need to be the smartest person in the room. He’s a great listener, he’s empathetic and he genuinely cares about the people he’s talking to. And after finally spending a day with him in person, I can tell you the Moe you see on camera is exactly the Moe you meet in real life. There’s just a positive energy around him. And I think that’s one of the coolest things about Blossom. The app brings us together, but the relationships become an extension of the app. Moe is a perfect example of that. Through his interviews and his content, he’s brought so many people from this community together and given them an opportunity to tell their stories. We don’t all have to invest the same way or agree on everything. We can challenge each other, learn from each other and still come together over this shared interest in investing and personal finance. Moe has been doing exactly that for a long time. That’s what makes him such a great ambassador for Blossom and why I think this award is so well deserved. I haven’t had a chance to watch the panel with you yet, so I can’t claim to remember the nervous 50 year old Darren from that day ...but I can say that seeing how far you’ve come since those early days is pretty incredible , especially starting at 50 😏 your journey is a great reminder that we DON'T need to have all the answers before we start sharing what we’re learning....We just need to be curious, willing to learn, and brave enough to put ourselves out there like you have done on cam. Look where that has taken you in just over three years!! Somehow, that journey allowed me to sit together in a caffe with you and moe. I can't wait to see you and moe on a stage at Blossomcon in person... For now the live stream will have to do. Those incredibly kind and gracious words about moe, I can echo. the best part of this whole diyer journey is the people you meet along the way and the friendships that grow from simply sharing something you care about. And that’s exactly what I appreciate about you and moe and others. Moe REALLY is SUCH a genuine, thoughtful, humble guy..and always willing to learn from others despite being the smartest person in the room most. He never pretends to have all the answers. He is always asking, learning... I think that’s one of the reasons so many people connect with him instantly ...I did! He is SO approachable!!! I’m grateful my path crossed with him too. I’m proud of how far Moe's come and I have a feeling this is only the beginning for him in the content creation journey.... Same goes for you buddy. @mr.financial Wow I am so grateful for all your kind words. As much as I was looking forward to joining Blossom Con event, I was also so excited to catch up with some of my close Blossom friends for coffee/sweets beforehand. What I appreciated was how you took the time to come and join us even though you had a busy schedule and were not able to come to BlossomCon. Ever since I had talked to you when I interviewed you several months ago, I knew you are a person I'd like to keep in my circle. As they say "surround yourself with people smarter than you" and you definitely fall in that category. You are articulate, professional, smart and have a kind heart. I also appreciated how much a family person you are as you spoke about your wife and the lovely story of how you met. 💕 All that to say, I am so appreciative of your trust and your friendship. I hope we continue to stay in touch no matter where you would be on this planet. 🙏🏻🙂
