Dividends
Dividends: getting paid just for holding a stock.
Companies like Coca-Cola ($KO) share part of their profits with shareholders โ usually a small payout per share, four times a year. Hold 100 shares and a few hundred dollars can land in your account annually, on top of any price gains. Not every company pays them; growth names often reinvest the cash instead.
Reinvesting those payouts buys more shares, which then pay their own dividends โ a quiet compounding loop. Not financial advice.
