I watched a YouTube video yesterday with this title. Are young people really this down? I still consider myself young, I’m 30. I get that buying a house or starting a family might seem impossible due to the cost of living, but what happened to everyone’s hope and optimism??? Man, I remember being 20 waking up at 5am ready to tackle my day, work toward my objectives knowing even the slightest progress toward my goals would make me go to bed that night with ultimate fulfillment and sense of accomplishment. Rarely did I ever think in terms of “failure” when it came to achieving my financial goals. Habits x Years = Results The world is looking back at you with neutral polarity simply waiting for you to get what you want from it. It doesn’t discriminate against your starting point. People are lazy and feel entitled to things. They expect a free ride plus want to tell others what to do. Anyways, looking at a paid-off home solely through the lens of a stock market spreadsheet misses the massive strategic leverage a debt-free asset gives you. When you do not owe a bank every month, your entire relationship with risk and career changes. They are missing the point & quoting these damn influencers who are copying others is hurting them. Also, trade school and/or college is the answer if you want to move beyond entry-level opportunities. People want to pursue entrepreneurship, cause they think it's a fast way to wealth, and it's not. It is a lot of work, and losing money in the process comes with Entrepreneurship

The cost of living outpaces wage growth year after year, which means younger folks are worse off than previous generations. They have to put in more effort and they get less for it. It's not laziness, they're playing on a harder difficulty.

dude i’ve been hearing about that too. i’ve been hearing like gen z is giving up and not saving any money at all like they’re living in the “now” and spending all their money on trips and clothes and what not. im gen Z and i dont get it at all, its so irresponsible. i’ve also been seeing this mass entitlement to other people’s money, like they think they deserve billionaires tax money and more free money from the government, i don’t know where in the world that comes from. i don’t think i’m entitled to anyone else’s money and people who genuinely think that, i believe they are truly stupid, i can stand it. go work, go put in the hours like the rest of us
