I drove up to BlossomCon yesterday, from Seattle, and am really glad I did. The Parq Marriott Vancouver was a great venue and the amenities provided were excellent. The vendors that were there were solely focused on the Canadian market, which didn’t particularly do me much good as an American. I didn’t have any problem with this though as they’re addressing their market. One thing on this that stuck out was the amount of vendors that had to fly into Vancouver. These companies are taking Blossom and Blossom’s users seriously. For me, the highlight was getting to meet fellow Blossom users. Had some great discussions and there was great energy. The panels were great too. Had a chance to chat with Max. Great guy, and he took the time to explain some of the upcoming improvements to the Blossom user experience. I have great faith in the direction the company is going. Also I’m looking forward to what the team will come up with in the years to come. Should I have the chance to attend again I’ll just go for two nights in the hotel. It’s better than dealing with Immigration twice in one day. Of note, took this cool photo of a bear statue at the ground level of the Parq Marriott, close to the valet. The statue of a bear just wasn’t what I was expecting at a conference full of investors.
