HHIS income math !!
The math on HHIS or any other similar CC ETF is pretty wild.
HHIS is around $11.62 and currently pays $0.27 per share every month.
In order to receive $1000 in dividends monthly at today's valuation.
- Shares needed: $1,000 ÷ $0.27 ≈ 3,704 shares
- Investment needed: 3,704 × $11.62 = $43,040.48
- Monthly distribution: 3,704 × $0.27 = $1,000.08
- This means annual distribution: ≈ $12,000
So if someone invested around $43,000, that would be roughly 3,700 shares, which at the current distribution would pay close to $1,000 a month.
And that's around $12,000 a year.
Then I realized something interesting…
If the $0.27 monthly distribution stayed the same, in roughly 3.6 years with $12000 in dividends per year, you would have received around $43,000 in distributions — basically your original investment amount — while still owning the shares.
Another positive aspect about HHIS is that it hasn't actually lowered its monthly distribution since launching in Jan 2025 (1 year and 8 months). It started around $0.25, increased to $0.26, and is now $0.27.
Obviously, that doesn't mean $0.27 will continue forever. Distributions can change, and HHIS hasn't been around very long.
But I still found the math pretty interesting.
$43K invested → ~$1K/month → ~$43K in distributions in about 3.6 years.
Definitely something I might target. Again its not realistic for the most of us but with DCA we can build a position that could replicate similar results.
What are your thoughts on this??
