How Iβd Build an ETF Portfolio π
How I'd build the perfect ETF portfolio If I bought more than one ETF in my 20s.
As you may know, I only hold XEQT in my FHSA and TFSA, and I hold VT in my RRSP. But if I had to build my portfolio with three ETFs instead of one, hereβs what I would do.ππΌ
First, I'd put 50% of my portfolio into an S&P 500 ETF. The S&P 500 gives you exposure to 500 of the biggest publicly traded companies in the United States.
Investment number two, I'd put 30% of my portfolio into an international ETF. This ETF gives you exposure to thousands of companies in different countries all over the world.
Now for investment number three, I would put the remaining 20% of my portfolio into a Nasdaq 100 ETF or into a Canadian market ETF. The Nasdaq 100 holds 100 of the largest tech and growth companies in the United States, while putting your money into the Canadian market will give you more exposure to companies in Canada. If you're heavily bullish with AI and tech, go with the Nasdaq 100 ETF. If you want more exposure to the Canadian economy, then I would choose an ETF like ZCN.TO.
