Every month I have been investing $500 to my TSFA and everytime I look at my holdings I feel confused and wonder what I should put my money towards. I definitely feel like I do have many stocks that I hold that I’m not currently 100% confident about and definitely think I should do some rebalancing.. For the past week I’ve been saying I am going to invest but keep feeling overwhelmed and don’t do it.. and I know what people will say is just set it and forget it but I kinda like doing things manually.. I was gonna do it yesterday and then I was looking at my holdings was just so confused and burnt out from thinking about it I just ended up falling asleep 😴 . I know I should just invest in $VFV and $XEQT but where the noise comes in is that I really want to add more to my $AMD then I also think about how I want to buy $google , and $DRAM and $AMZN even tho I know that I already hold those in my etfs but those are companies that I do believe in and feel like I will gain. So if anyone could give any advice to a new confused “scared” beginner investor still trying to figure things out , please that would be greatly appreciated ☺️ Happy Tuesday everyone!

The hardest thing for any investor to figure out is when to sell individual stocks … so since most of us (myself included) don’t have this insight perfectly my only advice would be chose ETFs that carry the stocks you believe in & understand the general structure of the ETF then you’re good. Don’t over think it

If you are “afraid” I would say for you to stick to ETFs and not individual stocks.

taking advice from here is a bad start, people on here have no clue on your goals, risk tolerance etc. You are better off scheduling an appointment with a for fee only financial advisor who is not linked to any brokers, banks or insurance companies. look for their credentials, claude/chatgpt can help you with what to look for and questions to ask if you dont know where to start. Good luck.

I think you suffer from FOMO - Fear Of Missing Out. You want to invest in AMD, GOOG, AMZN, blah, blah, but if you invest in the broad ETFs you are capturing those companies in them. That's why everyone is saying don't overthink, because these ETFs already have thought them into the fund for you. You can breathe now and start investing 😁

Keep it simple :) it's about the long term market investing that's what creates wealth
