Don’t get me confused with other income investors in this space. My conversion to Income focused portfolio came with the wish to retire before the age of 60 and generate my own pension. My RRSP and commuted pension along with my TFSA were converted in 2023 and now I find myself at the crossroads of: 18 months building my income portfolio and 18 months living my retirement for a total of 3 yrs. The income part has been more than sustainable which is around the 19K mark which is 2 times my income needs. The Wealth part has been phenomenal as I currently have over a 83% total return in the past 3 years. Although my portfolio is considered a high yield one, I believe in 10%-12% dividend yield and no more. We all dream of achieving FI and take the next step to RE when the time comes. Let’s not wait until 65 yrs old to determine our retirement age. Please review my screen shots and comment below. Working towards FIRE 🔥 is true freedom in my books!!! Always do your own research 🧐 and analysis 📊

Love reading up on you big time income investors. Let's me know I'm moving in the right direction. Currently have a yield a little over 13.5 generating 2400 a month. Im not close to yall but I will be one day💪🏽

Thank you Heath for sharing ! I always look forward to your posts. Although 80%of my portfolio is in blue chip Canadian companies but my first experience in 2019 was with Canoe EIT and I've been holding it since and it's done incredibly well, just like you I try to aim for the funds that pays 10-14% maximum and it's been doing great , I mentioned that before in here that CC ETFs are 20% of my portfolio and I do take out 100% of distribution every year and spend it on vacations with my family or gift it to my kids so they can max their TFSA and FHSA , some people here will say in a bear market they will tank well guess what In a bear market everything will , in 2020 I had a big chunk of bonds and it tanked more than the equity . End of the day you do what makes you feel better and ignore the noise. Thanks again for sharing Heath.

Wow, this portfolio looks amazing! Hoping to do the same in the future with my CC picks, I’m currently using margin to get more CC etfs and paying bills using my TFSA as collateral to get a big margin availability. I’m still trying to pick out other ETFs to pair with my core!
