We spend a LOT of time talking about what to invest in. But are we missing some of the stuff that actually matters more? Thatās the idea behind a new video series Iām starting with someone a lot of you already know here on Blossom @williamwang23 Will I finally got to meet Will in person at BlossomCon in Vancouver this summer. Weād already connected through Blossom, but once we started talking in person, we just clicked. And if you know Will, you know the guy LOVES talking about finance. His wife @jesswang even jokes about how much he talks about it. Of course, I can relate. But hereās something I really like about the way Will approaches money. Heās built an incredible portfolio at a relatively young age, but he hasnāt put his life on hold to do it. Heās still living his life. Heās made some really good choices with money, heās built wealth, and heās managed to find some balance along the way. I think thatās important. Because we can spend hours debating what to invest in and trust me, weāre still going to talk investing but thereās so much more to getting your finances right than what you own in your portfolio. Thatās where I think these conversations with Will are going to get interesting. Iāve always shared my own journey because I hope someone else can learn something from it. Will loves sharing what heās learned too, and heās got a LOT of ideas. Weāre also at completely different stages of life. So at some point it became pretty obvious: Why arenāt we recording these conversations? Well⦠now we are. Our first one is up: We Talk About Investing⦠But What Are We Missing? https://youtu.be/J9yj7PZgezs And since weāre just getting started, Iāll throw this one out to you: What do you think we spend too much time talking about when it comes to investing⦠and what donāt we talk about enough?

Health. All the money in the world is irrelevant if you canāt enjoy it fully with a healthy mind, body, and soul/spirit!

Thanks Darren. I myself can still learn a lot from you. Appreciate the kind words, I'm glad you started investing, although later in life you'll still retire and do well because you started investing. Looking forward to more conversations in the future! :)

Great video & monthly video idea is excellent! For sure negotiate with your cell provider etc! I went to another provider for my wifi & negotiated $35/m for my unlimited cell service since I had my own phone ⦠if you can pay less on the same service that gives you more $ for the things that actually matter (ie: less time between connecting flights etc)

This is a great video. Thank you for creating it! My hubby and I recently had the great fortune to meet Will, Jess and their family. Money is something many people feel uncomfortable talking about, but simply starting the conversation about doing things a little differently can create lifelong habits. Years ago, our daughter wanted to attend an expensive dance camp. Instead of simply saying we couldnāt afford it, we worked together to figure out how we could create the extra money. One surprisingly simple change was āleaningā our fridge! Instead of a fridge full of groceries. You know the five kinds of cheese and ingredients we often ended up throwing away! We bought only what we needed for the week. We still had variety, just less excess. We also started packing our lunches. None of these changes felt like a sacrifice, but together they created the money for something that mattered to us, which is creating memories for our family. Sometimes creating more money isnāt about earning more. Itās about looking at what you already have and doing things just a little differently. Happy investing in family and future.
