Reaching $100,000 can feel so slow. BUT Most of that is going to come from your own contributions not investment growth. But after the portfolio gets bigger compounding starts doing most of the work If we use a 10% return $10,000 = $1,000/year $100,000 = $10,000/year $500,000 = $50,000/year That’s why a lot of investors say that the first $100K is the hardest After that, your money starts working for you a lot more No matter how you invest whether it’s $VOO, $SCHG, or $XEQT getting to your first big milestone matters. What was harder for you ? The first 100k or was it a different milestone ?

Still a long way from my first 100K, so it is honestly encouraging to hear the hardest part comes first. The 10% math really puts it in perspective, I like the idea of compounding doing the heavy lifting once you get there.
