I've been really MIA on Blossom since the passing of my sister... It's given me a lot of time to reflect on things. I still enjoy everything about finance and check my portfolio often, but I really want to stress the importance of realizing why we are doing this. What is the end goal of all of this? Seeing a loved one go in their early 30s is difficult, and it's made me realize that the time we have on this planet is really, really short. I have come to the realization that staring at numbers and watching them grow isn't as important as spending some of that time with loved ones. I want to start taking the kiddos on more vacations, buy the van that the wife wants, and try to see my parents more. The key for me will still be to be responsible with my finances, but instead of waiting for that next portfolio goal, waiting for the kids to grow older, or waiting to retire... why not live now? The whole point of becoming wealthy is to USE THE WEALTH, not to stash more and more so we can become so rich that we never actually enjoy the short time we are given on Earth. When the drunk driver went head on with her Uber vehicle, I truly believe she had no clue, could've just been chilling on her phone in the back then dead the next second...goes to show our life could end at any second and we might not even realize it. This post isn't saying we shouldn't be financially responsible, but that we should also enjoy life today... Tell your loved ones you love them, and use your finances to better your life. Will

Will, I’m so sorry for your loss it’s so heartbreaking that she was being responsible by not driving & taking an uber then this ended her young life without warning … I always lived my life differently than most as I seen several friends die in my early 20s & so every dollar I made I tried to save most of it so that one day I didn’t HAVE TO trade my time for money.. You’ve built such a solid base even if you never added a dollar you’d be set, so yes please start LIVING today with your family & anyone close to you as each moment is priceless & none of us are gauranteed tmr My prayers are with you & your family at this time 🙏🏻🙏🏻

I wholeheartedly agree with you Will. Sorry about you loss. 💔Tomorrow isn't promised. Sometimes we are so busy building that we forget the moment and the things and experiences that can only be done here and now. Balance is so hard but the key is building a life such that we have no regrets. The legacy of 'generational wealth' we leave behind are the lessons, stories, humour, acts of kindness, mentorship and support we impart far more than the money and assets we leave behind. We all carry the stories of our ancestors and they would want us to LIVE in the moment and take advantage of the opportunities we have that they didn't.

Thanks for checking in, Will. I have noticed your absence. This really resonates with me. Wealth is a tool to build a better life, not a scoreboard we spend our lives watching. There’s nothing wrong with having goals, but we can’t let the pursuit of more rob us of the life we’re working so hard to create. Spend responsibly, plan for tomorrow, but don’t forget to live today. ❤️ PS. Buy the van your wife wants

Wow sorry for your loss man. Be strong and sending my best wishes your way I’ve dealt with a family member passing recently. The pain is real. Stay strong
