Thank you everyone for great participation and feedback on how you structure your portfolios and the rules you follow. It’s been super helpful seeing the different approaches out there. I thought I’d share my own framework as well. It’s still a work in progress, especially as I continue to restructure my income portfolio, but my growth side has been fairly consistent for the last 10 years. Growth Portfolio : 70% of my total investments Focus: Long-term capital appreciation Sector Allocation: Technology 25% Financials 15% Healthcare 13% Consumer Discretionary 11% Industrials 10% Communication Services 8% Energy 5% Consumer Staples 5% Other 8% Rule of thumb: I try to keep any single sector under 15% (where possible) to avoid concentration risk. Geographic Split: US 50% Canada 20% International Developed 20% Emerging Markets 10% Rule of thumb: Spreading exposure across regions helps reduce reliance on any single economy. _____________________________________ Income Portfolio💲30% of my total investments Focus: Consistent monthly cash flow while protecting NAV Sector Allocation: Financials 10% Utilities 5% Crypto 40% (this needs serious trimming)* Technology 25% Oil & Gas 5% Other 15% * I plan to increase Utilities & Oil exposure up to 10% each taking away from Crypto side. Tip: For covered-call and income strategies, I also spread my exposure across different ETF providers. Each uses slightly different methodologies, which helps diversify risk and smooth out returns. Curious to hear: how many of you run separate “growth” vs “income” buckets, or do you combine everything under one approach?

For me I’ve settled into this: 80% growth - 40% snp500 25% Nasdaq 15% BRK/COST 15% index covered calls for income 5% crypto & gold instead of international Who knows if I’m right or wrong but this feels like I can believe in long term to not change

Thanks vert much for this post. Super interesting your distribution. Since the beginning of my retirement, I have been concentrating and want to obtain an overall return that is approaching 20%. For that, I realized that I was too invested in crypto. I'm lowering my exposure in this sector. I want to get an 80% income and 20% growth weighting. Small gain but long term. Currently I rebalance my choices according to the famous NAV. Thanks again 👍👍
