Today I saw Jerome Hass (portfolio manager at Lightwater Partners) on BNN, and his main message was super interesting: Canadian energy companies aren't just about gas for cars anymore, they are helping build the future tech, in North America! Huge tech companies build giant computer centers for AI and those centers need a huge amount of electricity. That's where these Canadian "behind-the-scenes" energy companies step in to help tech companies: - Enerflex ($EFX / $EFXT): They build and fix equipment that moves natural gas and recently signed a huge deal to build natural gas power for tech companies so their data centers stay powered up. - Total Energy Services ($TOT / $TOTZF): They help drill and run energy equipment in Canada, the US, and Australia and are growing fast, but the stock is still priced pretty low compared to how much money they make. - InPlay Oil ($IPO / $IPOOF ): A light-oil company that generates a lot of extra cash and pay a nice 6.5% dividend back to their shareholders and are working hard to pay down their debts. Main point: Energy companies that help power new technology are in a great spot to grow for years to come. Do you own any Canadian energy stocks in your portfolio, or are you watching from the sidelines? — This is for informational and educational purposes and it is not a financial advice.
