I don’t share portfolio updates nearly as often as I probably should, so here’s some full transparency on where I’m at. Over the last three years, this brokerage portfolio is up 218% [For comparison, the S&P 500 is up about 79% and the Dow is up 53% over the same period] 📈 The portfolio now has just over $1 million in unrealized gains, with individual stocks showing returns as high as 168% and profits of more than $414,000 on a single stock. [portfolio positions copied in first comment below] But the most important message... You CAN beat the market. But you probably won’t do it by investing like everyone else. 🎯 Super Micro Computer $SMCI is a perfect example. I’ve watched this stock fall 30%, 40% and even 50% at different points. That’s when most investors panic, sell and move on to whatever stock is working that month. I kept coming back to the research. Today, my SMCI position is worth about $1.18 million, with an unrealized gain of roughly $414,000. 💰 It’s the same philosophy behind other positions. Palo Alto Networks $PANW is up about 168% for me. CrowdStrike $CRWD is up 139%, Fortinet $FTNT is up 108%. My Ethereum exposure through $ETHA and $ETH is up 37%, with over $500,000 in unrealized gains. 🚀 That doesn’t mean every pick works. SoundHound $SOUN is currently down about 34% from when I bought back in [after selling at $20 a share last year]. Investing in individual stocks means accepting that some ideas will be wrong or take much longer to play out. ⚠️ And for complete transparency, this is not my entire investment portfolio. I have other accounts invested primarily in index funds and ETFs that get a more stress-free market return - no more, no less but a lot less worry. The lesson isn’t that everyone should pick stocks. It’s that if you’re going to pick them; do the research, understand why you own them, and develop enough conviction to stick with that research when the market tests you. 🧠 Sometimes the biggest returns come from being willing to look wrong before you’re proven right. This stock has been crazy i have only 2.785 shares lol BUT i started with 1 share but bought more ( despite their troubles) to lower my cost basis from. Its FINALLY showing a turn around I believe the last earnings too were positive so thats good. I said id sell out of them when i break even but ill keep holding it. My average cost is 43.22.. im going to keep holding and not sell out as originally thought..,

The SMCI story really stuck with me, watching a stock drop 50% and still trusting your research takes serious conviction. I am mostly in index funds right now so it is reassuring to hear you keep stress free money on the side too. Do you have a rule for how big a single position can get before you trim?

So inspiring. It was crazily tough to hold Smci during march sell off and accounting issues. From $58 to $20, I didn’t sell it. I am happy that I stuck with it.
