I am in many finance groups on Facebook, Instagram, X, etc (yes im a finance nerd lol). I see people post and ask what stocks to buy or ask what's the next stock to go to the moon? ๐ Over the years of investing I've found the real secret to building wealth in the stock market? Your income. Everyone obsesses over finding the next stock that might double. But the reality is, the biggest driver of long-term wealth isn't chasing massive returns it's having more capital to invest. Someone earning a high income and consistently investing $5,000-$10,000 every month doesn't need to take wild risks. A steady 8-10% annual return can build extraordinary wealth over time. Meanwhile, too many people are trying to turn $3,000 into $6,000 overnight. I'd rather earn 10% on a $500,000 portfolio than 100% on $3,000. Focus first on increasing your earning power. Then invest consistently in diversified, long-term assets. The larger your portfolio becomes, the less you need home runs to reach financial freedom. Some investors like @moementumfinance, @flipflopfinance@karyungtom@mr.financial @crazycanuckinvestor to name a few are all mainly in pretty simple boring ETFs (so am I lol) but are making decent gains (50k-100k+) during a healthy market year simply because they've allocated their income aside and continued to buy good investments overtime. I dont speak for any of them but I dont see them posting about chasing the next big stock. Some invest only in XEQT, CAGE, other EQTs (you know who you are lol) Income fuels investing. Investing builds wealth.
