It’s quite easy to get caught up in the news cycle. Especially nowadays when a screen able to give you the news is plastered in your face 24/7. And heck, I don’t blame you. It’s only been 19 days into 2026 and the U.S. has already: • abducted the leader of Venezuela (and now controls its oil), • a U.S. conflict might start in Iran, • Europe and America are fighting over who owns Greenland, and • The Federal Reserve may not be independent in a few months. It’s hard not to think about the bad things that will happen when this type of news comes up. I’ve even seen some posts online about people shifting their investment strategy due to proposed policy changes that may come. Now it’s true; we’re living in unprecedented times. That much is already clear. But it’s widely accepted globally that most of this recent volatility is from current leadership, and the American court system will get through any unlawful decision-making happening today, eventually. Therefore, unless global war breaks out, things will even out with time. Furthermore, as it stands today, despite it all, America’s geopolitical presence and influence still remain. Its soft power, economic power, military power, and allied power is the strongest in the world. Most of the world’s foreign investment, and the most liquid and prosperous capital markets, and the amazing American startup funding sector, « is all still in America. » Not to mention the U.S. dollar as the world reserve currency (for now) and the crucial sectors American businesses control such as semiconductors ($NVDA, $AMD, $AVGO), AI research ($GOOGL, OpenAI, Anthropic), advanced aerospace ($BA) and more. I’m comfortable with my money in American markets, even with the news, because of these facts. None of us should change our strategy, or become overly obsessive with current events as a result of what an American president says in the news. Even more, you shouldn’t use the words of an unpredictable American president that’ll be gone in 2 years as a way to plan long-term investment decisions. You’ll make more money long-term. And you’ll definitely make more money as a whole if you ignore the noise and think in terms of decades. Tune out the noise. Stay rational. Win long-term. That’s all it takes. Thanks for reading. Happy investing.

It will always be easier to complain about others then focus on what's in your control..... I wish people focused more on themselves

People just focus on posting content for likes, attention, and followers. Don't let it get to you.For the vast majority of people, investing reliably leads to more money over the long term with far less effort — so focus on building real wealth through consistent investing not social media BS

Well, the USD fell 100 points tonight. It pays to worry about Trump.

It’s odd no one ever complains about the far worse corruption of the EU or our corrupt liberals in power in Canada. It’s always only trump?
