Will MSTE lag the underlying in a strong bull market? Yup Are some people okay with that trade-off? It seems so. In the end, everyone can choose for themselves where they want to put their own money. But if you look at total return using Stock Analysis, MSTE and MSTR were relatively close for much of the past three months. The larger gap really opened up during this latest explosive move higher over the past 2 weeks. That is the structural trade-off with the strategy. Covered calls work best in sideways to slow moving markets. If the stock runs and rockets up in a short period of time the strike prices get blown through the fund has to buy back the call options for a loss and sell another one at a higher strike. The fund is going to lag the underlying but in a bull market the fund price is still going to go up and the income is still going to get paid some people are happy enough with that trade off no need to be rude about it. Make a post about the trade offs and let people make their own decisions 🤷♂️
