Everyone talks about $XEQT, $VEQT and $VFV. But I’ve been paying attention to something else. I love $HXQ, so when I explored Wealthsimple’s new Portfolio Pulse feature, I was intrigued to see significant positions in Global X ETFs among some of the highest-net-worth portfolios featured. One investor held 26% in $HXS. Another held 20% in $HEQT. A third held 25% in $HXT. That’s enough to make me curious 🧐 But here’s the contrarian take: The goal isn’t to own what wealthy investors own. It’s to understand what others might be overlooking. Global X offers different approaches to investing, including Nasdaq-100 exposure through $HXQ and index strategies designed with different tax considerations in mind. And for Canadians investing in a non-registered account, tax efficiency deserves a closer look. Certain corporate-class ETFs, such as $HXS and HXT, are designed to manage taxable distributions differently from traditional ETFs. This may help defer taxes, but it doesn’t eliminate them, and the trade-offs, fees and risks matter. That’s why I think investors should look beyond the ticker symbol. Understand what you own, how it works, what it costs and how it fits your overall portfolio. A popular ETF isn’t automatically the best ETF. And a sophisticated strategy isn’t automatically a better one. The real edge isn’t copying someone else’s portfolio. It’s understanding your own. I’m happy holding $HXQ as part of my growth strategy, but I’m always learning and questioning my assumptions. Have you explored Global X ETFs beyond the usual suspects? I’d love to hear what you’ve discovered. 👇

A lot of these big accounts are business owners with corporate accounts. Please don’t assume that they use it for a non registered.

Interesting but I don’t compare my little portfolio to wealthy investors as they probably have much different goals than myself .. HXQ is a good ETF but I’m happy to hold what I hold as I do use dividends in my non registered which helps decrease decisions to sell other funds … Ie: I hold my covered call funds in my non registered which makes sense as the dividends are easy to take out & if they drop in value I voukd create losses to offset gains

I have $HXQ in my registered account, and it has performed better than $QQC.
