Maclean’s latest cover raises an uncomfortable question about Canada's economic future. Baby boomers have benefited from decades of rising home prices, stock market gains and wealth accumulation. Meanwhile, younger Canadians face increasingly difficult paths to homeownership, saving and building wealth. I think this divide also helps explain how the Liberals have managed to remain in power despite growing economic frustration. Those who already own assets have experienced a very different economy from those trying to get ahead. In my view, Canada lost considerable economic ground under Trudeau, and I have yet to see a meaningful turnaround under Carney. We continue to face concerns about job losses, struggling businesses, declining affordability and investment leaving Canada. Yet too much of the political conversation remains focused on virtue signalling and announcements rather than tangible results that improve people's lives today. We need policies that create jobs, attract investment, support businesses and give younger Canadians a genuine opportunity to build wealth. The real divide isn't necessarily boomers versus millennials. It's between Canadians who already own appreciating assets and those increasingly shut out of the opportunity to acquire them. 📰 Maclean's: "The Great Generational Rip-Off" (https://macleans.ca/longforms/the-great-generational-rip-off/)

Spot on. Complaining about the Trump administration and laying blame for all of ours and the world’s ills is a massive gaslighting campaign. It deflects blame from the government and the false fear it’s causing has gotten them elected. We could quickly fix our economic problems but a deliberately created system does not allow us to do so. On top of that they hook up with the EU who imposes there own set of rules and I’d like to see the fine print explained of any such deal to all Canadians before passing this crazy idea to become an associate member of the EU.

Carney and Trudeau: same face of same coin.

Add in that Canada fell in Economic Freedom rankings from 9th to 18th, it’s looking bleak. if Millenials are fighting for scraps, not sure what Gen Z and Alpha going to do… if other western nations are foreshadowing … a divided nation showing its cracks
