Not all risk is the same. Owning $SCHG or $SPMO is risky because they can swing harder than something like $VOO. But that’s very different from throwing money into a random stock just because it’s trending and everyone is saying to buy. One is calculated risk. The other is just hoping. If I’m going to take more risk, I want it tied to strong companies, real earnings, and a strategy I actually understand. Or just a broad ETF like $XEQT or $VOO I’m personally not a big risk guy but if I have winning odds I’ll usually take the bet 😂 Are you taking more risk or just more chances?

Personally I realized I’m not really a stock picker I can’t be bothered to know what CEO did what & when to sell etc. So after selling off most of my single stock I had tried when I first started I have tried different thematic ETFs to add risk/reward by factor or active management ie: both SPMO (factor ) & FINN (actively managed) are in my portfolio.. Who knows if it’s the right call but for now those two are going well so I’ll just stick to this plan
