SpaceX says it plans to make Starlink Mobile a "major mobile carrier in the US," to the likes of $T and $VZ . backed by a new nationwide low-band spectrum portfolio and FCC approval for its next-generation satellites. Doesn’t look good for big cellular! There’s a new player at the table thats holding all the chips. $SPCX

It will put some pressure on the big 3 carriers but $SPCX is years away from the infrastructure needed. One they need 15k satellites in orbit and than will need cell towers as well to support urban areas . Remember that spectrum that SPCX bought was from the failed Boost Mobile / ECO Star they spent over 7.7B and only capture 1M customers . The import thing to look at is the Oct 6th rule change from the FCC that direct to customer service is now allowed . Their ruling will effect ASTS the most they have long term contracts with mobile providers and have to split 50% revenue to use their spectrum Verzion revenue from leases spectrum bring in 153B a year in revenue. It’s going to be more of a repricing effect than put the carriers out of business.

This will age like Elon’s 2019 Robotaxi proclamation…

In my opinion, mobile carriers have been benefiting off of the fact that there is no alternative and the "Verizon's pretty much the same" argument. They better get their act together.
