I long wanted to own $POOL, but my investment thesis changed when $HD acquired SRS Distribution in mid-2024, which has a subsidiary called Heritage Pool Supply, which happens to be Pool Corp's biggest competitor. My thinking? Heritage Pool Supply just became a much more robust competitor with Home Depot as their parent. This eroded much of POOL's moat IMO. Right or wrong, time will tell...
