The week ahead is not just one story. It is a calendar.
Tuesday brings the US midterm elections. Friday brings the October jobs report. In between, chips, rides and travel report.
Here are 4 worth researching. 👇
📌 The Watchlist
1. Uber Technologies | $UBER: Ride hailing and delivery platform. It reports before the open on Wednesday, November 4, a read on trips, delivery demand and consumer spending.
2. Qualcomm | $QCOM: Smartphone, automotive and connected device chip maker, plus a chip licensing business. It reports after the close on Wednesday, November 4, a read on handset demand and AI devices.
3. Arm Holdings | $ARM: Chip architecture designer that licenses its designs to other chip makers. It reports after the close on Wednesday, November 4, a read on licensing demand across phones and AI hardware.
4. Airbnb | $ABNB: Marketplace for short term stays and experiences. It reports after the close on Thursday, November 5, a read on travel bookings and demand into the holiday season.
📌 The Part Worth Saving
An earnings date is a reason to research a stock. It is not a reason to buy blindly.
Look for:
- Guidance for the next quarter, not just the headline beat or miss
- What drove the result: demand, pricing, costs or one time items
- Whether the same story shows up in peers reporting the same week
- How much of the move is the market, not the company
- A plan for volatility around the print, before the print
The best question: Which of these four reports tells you the most about the consumer, and which tells you the most about AI hardware?
Education only, not financial advice.
