A lot of you have been asking for an update on my journey to build up a high yield passive income portfolio in the TFSAs of my two Daughters. So here is the update of my youngest's TFSA (my oldest's is a bit smaller but pretty similar so I wont talk about it here). Since I first posted about my Daughter's TFSA back around December 2024, there have been a couple big changes. For this TFSA, my Daughter already had about $9K of some of these ETFs generating a very small amount monthly. For their Xmas I gifted each of them $12K. So for this daughter my initial restructured TFSA for her to use the monthly income for was based on $21K of net total investment into th TFSA. I focused my ETF picks only to the highest yielding ETFs back then. This gave her TFSA about a 71% yield at the time. Since then in 2025 a few major changes have happened: 1) I gifted each of them another $10K each from my portfolio's income. This brought my youngest's total TFSA investment up to $31K. 2) I used the extra $10K to substantially diversify her TFSA. This included taking positions in all Harvest's new single Stock ETFs. I rebalanced previously over-positioned holdings down to put into more of the other new ETFs from Canada. I wanted more diversity to reduce risk. 3) Obviously, as we all know, Trumpenomics also slammed the markets. This has brought all investment boats down - including obviously all our passive income portfolios and lowered the monthly distributions as well. Finally, the results so far. My Daughter has since been realizing about $1300+ a month in spendable tax free income. NONE of it so far has been reinvested because she has had a couple big VET BILLS from her two bunnies and her cat being sick and she needed this invaluable extra cash each month. That is exactly what the purpose of these TFSAs for my daughters are for. So they have extra spending money each month if they need it. Her portfolio is currently maintaining a 59.1% yield even with the further diversification. Generally the portfolio is not going down the $4000 from initial investment because of erosion and no reinvestment. It has primarily been down because of Trumpenomics. In conclusion, so far my two daughters Passive Income TFSAs and the roughly $1300/month it generates for them to spend or save has been invaluable for them. I am so happy I have started this for them. The plan is over the next few years to keep gifting them more of my portfolio's excess monthly income with the objective that they could 100% live off this income even if they were to lose their jobs. Hope this helps all of you that were very interested in an update of my Daughter's TFSA income journey.

We are very lucky to have people like Perry who are willing to share portfolio information with the income community including his own daughters. Every time a monthly income update gets posted, we leave ourselves open to negative and sometimes abusive reactions. Thanks for sharing Perry and for being open and honest. Keep doing what you are doing. Itβs greatly appreciated π»

I never mentioned my oldests tfas. Since her tfsa has been paying her monthly, she has stopped contributing $100/month from her monthly employment income. Instead, the tfsa now contributes 3x more each month at $400. The rest of her monthly cash is free for her to spend... and she does for washing machine and trip. Her new $400/month into her rrsp will now give her a much higher tax deduction each tax year. Win win win. So both daughters are not reinvesting any of their income back into their tfsas.
