I started investing pretty old (43) 45 now I made the mistake of paying all my student loans off including law school before I invested.. I remember my first correction I was freaking out...and a private message from @ryne put everything into perspective. Today I got to rack up my cores $VOO and $QQQM at a sale i learned how to see weeks like this as an oppurtinity.

The provincial part of the student loan should've been a priority the federal not. The provincial was likely around 8% which is a lot the federal was likely 0%. So the strategy would have been to make a lump sum payment to the provincial to clear the loan then set the federal down to the minimum payment until paid
